Scholarship and Publication

The mix of research and scholarship will vary among faculty. Some will engage more in research while others more in scholarship. Our services and resources serve both.

 

Collaborative Scholarship Intensive (CSI)

CSI is a six-month workshop that comprehensively addresses skill development in the publications arena. It's designed to help faculty become more knowledgeable and skilled in the following areas:

  • Partnering with family medicine research resources
  • Managing and completing all components of a research project
  • Writing efficiency
  • Initiating and managing collaborative work with colleagues
  • Mentoring residents, medical students, and junior faculty on research projects
  • Providing and responding to peer reviews
  • Disseminating work through presenting and publishing

Family medicine publishing and scholarship support

Support is provided to assist our faculty with process and assistance questions and designed to help faculty in the following ways:
  • Move forward with scholarship and research
  • Achieve recognition in academic setting
  • Feel comfortable in the research and scholarship aspects of faculty life
  • Increase scholarly activity by faculty
  • Increase faculty satisfaction with the scholarly aspects of their work
  • Improve faculty life and satisfaction in academic role
  • Improve national standing and reputation of the department
