Focus on combining individual patient management with clinic population management and improvement:

  • Hone evidence-based medicine skills and point-of-care patient teaching
  • Write an article for Help Desk Answers
  • Participate in the POPS (clinical operations) Committee

Spend time in outpatient clinics with cardiovascular educators.

Learn skin procedures from dermatology and family medicine faculty.

Choose an elective or design your own. Up to four weeks are available for an international or domestic opportunity.

Inpatient medicine

Eight weeks days, four weeks nights

As the supervising senior resident, manage service and work closely with inpatient faculty and consultants.

Rotate at the Level II emergency department at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Gain exposure to a variety of subspecialties, including:

  • Ambulatory procedures
  • Endocrinology
  • Ophthalmology
  • Outpatient general surgery
  • Otolaryngology
  • Urology
  • Wound care
