Education and Training
We offer educational activities and training programs for medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, and community physicians.
- Residency programs
We have eight family medicine residency programs—five in the Twin Cities and three in Greater Minnesota.
Our fellowship programs include hospice and palliative medicine, sports medicine, behavioral health, and human sexuality.
- Medical student education
Our involvement in medical student education occurs across the Medical School's two campuses: Twin Cities and Duluth.
- Grand rounds
Topics relevant to family medicine are presented at grand rounds during the lunch hour almost every month.
- Continuing medical education
We offer a couple of continuing medical education credit-bearing courses for family physicians.
- Faculty development
We have training programs to help faculty develop their skills in research and teaching. We also offer peer consultation.
- Programmatic courses
Part of residency training, courses range in topics such as obstetrics, sexual medicine, sports medicine, and psychiatry. Selected courses also open to medical students, community physicians, and health professionals.
