Summary
Eli Coleman, PhD, is professor and director of the Program in Human Sexuality and Academic Chair in Sexual Health at the University of Minnesota Medical School. He has written numerous articles and books on a variety of sexual health topics, including compulsive sexual behavior, sexual dysfunction, sexual orientation, and gender dysphoria. He is founding editor of the International Journal of Transgenderism and International Journal of Sexual Health. He is the past president of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality, and the International Academy of Sex Research. Coleman has been a sexual health consultant various national and international health agencies including the World Health Organization. Dr. Coleman has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) Gold Medal, the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality’s (SSSS) Distinguished Scientific Achievement Award, and Society for Sex Therapy & Research’s (SSTAR) Masters and Johnson Award.
